Recently the Obama Administration has allowed spouses, children, and parents of military personnel who entered the US illegally without papers to apply for their green cards without having to leave the country. This new law applies to those who have a US citizen family member who is currently on active military duty or have previously served in the US military.
USCIS National Benefits Center is currently transferring I-130 petitions to other USCIS offices for review. The purpose of the transfer is to reduce their huge backlog which has caused a delay in processing of these petitions. If you have received a notice of transfer for your case, USCIS has announced that they will take action on your case within 60 days from the date of your transfer notice.
